Mass exodus underway from Lahore ahead of Eidul Fitr

LAHORE (92 News) – Loads of outsiders have started leaving for their native hometowns and villages to celebrate Eidul Fitr with their near and dear ones. As per details garnered, on various events particularly Eidul Fitr, Eidul Azha and Youm-i-Ashur, majority of the outsiders prefer travelling to their hometown. They want to share their happy feelings with their family, friends and relatives. The federal and Punjab government have announced four holidays but a majority of the government employees will enjoy more holidays by taking two vacations from their respective departments. The Lahore’s Railways Station was observed being packed with passengers as most families with children and luggage prefer trains over buses for a long journey. Everyone wants to spend these happy day with their love ones. Due to the returning of people, the bus stations and railway stations crowded with heavy rush. The transporters too have started cashing in on the situation. Hundreds of thousands of people belonging to other cities of the province have been engaged in various businesses in the Punjab capital. The passengers are facing difficulty to get tickets and there are complaints of overcharging fare of ticket prices by transporter mafia. The passengers say the transport and other government concerned department authorities were absent from the scene and passengers were left only on transporters mercy. Meanwhile, the security has been enhanced at railway stations, trains and other installations.
