Massive power breakdown plunges 30 percent of Karachi into darkness

KARACHI (92 News) – Massive power breakdown plunged 30 percent of the country’s economic hub into darkness for the second consecutive day, as the tall claims of K-Electric authorities to proved false. The city’s Azizabad, Gulistan-e-Johar, Malir, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Bahadurabad, Tariq Road, North Nazimabad, Jamshed Road and Mahmoobabad were plunged into darkness after tripping in the National Grid Station. The K-Electrric spokesman said that they were trying to control the tripping. The Ministry of the Water and Power said that there were tripping in HUBCO Power Plant due to tripping in K-Electric transformers. Due to safety system at the power plant, there was no loadshedding in other areas. On the other hand, the electricity supply to Badin and Sukkur was suspended due to fault in Jamshoro Grid Station.
