Matters with TLP resolved; 669 people, out of 733, released: Sheikh Rasheed

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has announced that the matters with the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) have been resolved and 669 people, out of 733, have been released.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, he said that 210 FIRs, including the one registered against Saad Rizvi, would go through the legal process. He said that it was their right to appeal against decision to ban the organization within 30 days.

The minister said that the state had not succumbed to any pressure. "Prime Minister Imran Khan will himself take the Muslim countries into confidence over the blasphemy issue," he declared.

Sheikh Rasheed also announced a grant of Rs 40 million for the martyred police officers.

He said that the Pakistan government had asked the British government to deport Nawaz Sharif. "The British high commissioner has asked the government to submit an application in this regard," he added.
