Maulana Adil laid to rest at Farooqia University next to his father

KARACHI (92 News) - Religious scholar Maulana Dr Adil Khan was laid to rest at at Farooqia University next to his father Maulana Saleemullah Khan on Sunday.

It is pertinent to mention here that the prominent scholar, along with his driver, was shot dead last night in Karachi's Shah Faisal area.

According to the reports, the funeral prayers of renowned religious scholar were offered at Jamia Farooqia Hub River Road Phase II. Maulana Adil’s elder brother Maulana Ubaidullah led the prayers that were attended by large number of people.

Besides scholars and other religious figures, a large number of attendees included students and devotees of the late scholar.

Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, Mufti Muhammad Rafi Usmani, Maulana Hanif Jalandhari, Senator Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Maulana Rashid Soomro, Superintendent of Jamia Banuria Mufti Noman, and Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman also attended the funeral prayers of the deceased scholar.

Maulana Adil was buried at Farooqia University next to his father Maulana Saleemullah Khan.

Meanwhile, the law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation into the case. Police confirmed that geo-fencing of the site where Maulana Adil was shot dead has been conducted.

Officials will obtain CCTV footage to see which way the assailants escaped after committing the crime.

Earlier a day, Maulana Adil and his driver were killed by unidentified armed suspects in Karachi when they stopped at Shama Shopping Center.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Inspector General of Police (IGP) taking notice of the firing incident had directed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Korangi to submit an inquiry report into the matter.
