Maulana Sherani announces to distance JUI-Pakistan from JUI-F

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Maulana Mohammad Khan Sherani has announced to distance the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Pakistan (JUI-P) from the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) .

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, he said that he had inherited the JUI-P from their elders. "Fazalur Rehman had formed a separate group in the name of the JUI-F. I have never been part of the JUI-F or Fazalur Rehman Group," he maintained.

He said that he would convince all of his colleagues not to part ways with them."We have put all matters before their colleagues," he added.

Maulana Sherani said that their future policy will be three-pronged – strategy for membership, follow seven basic rules and no colleague will take a step against Quran and Sunnah. "We will change the negative attitudes into positive ones," he added.

On the other hand, Maulana Qamaruddin has submitted an application to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the electioral symbol of 'pen' for the JUI-P.
