ISLAMABAD – Managing Director Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has resigned from the top lucrative post of a big state owned company ( OGDCL) to some extent owing to performance issues.

According to sources, Shahid Salim, MD OGDCL,  was appointed for three years tenure. However, he  has now resigned from the top position prior to expiry of the tenure. 

Sources said that Shahid Saleem has resigned because of possible removal. They said that the  federal government and a board of OGDCL was not happy with the performance of Shahid Salim as MD OGDCL. They said that ostensibly due to poor performance of the top man of OGDCL, especially in decision making, working of the company had affected badly during Shahid Salim's tenure.  Around one and half month ago, OGDCL board has started reviewing the performance of a big state owned entity (OGDCL, said sources.

They added that an important meeting of the OGDCL board is called on 1st October, 2021 and the meeting is likely to take deciaion regarding future top man of OGDCL.

It is pertinent to mention that OGDCL Board of Directors in its 219th meeting held on January 21, 2020 had approved the appointment of Shahid Salim Khan as Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer in place of Dr. Naseem Ahmad.
