Media has played an important role in eliminating terrorism, says PM Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Special Assistant to Prime Minister Irfan Siddiqui has on Thursday met with the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad and exchanged views on electronic media code of conduct. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that consensus on media Code of Conduct is very positive progress. He expressed the hope that serious efforts will be made for implementation of media Code of Conduct. The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of Committee on Media Code of Conduct. He said that the media has played an important role in the elimination of terrorism, extremism and sectarianism fro mthe country. Sharif said that the role of media with reference to national interest and development of the country is of vital importance and the Government completely believes in the freedom of media.
