Medical action plan prepared to deal with epidemic, says DG ISPR

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – DG ISPR Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar said that the armed forces are active and a medical action plan has been prepared to deal with the coronavirus epidemic. Addressign a press conference with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Zafar Mirza and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan on Thursday, he said that the Pakistan armed forces are an asset of the nation. “We, in coordination with the civil institutions, are utilizing all-out resources to overcome the challenge,” he said. The DG ISPR said that ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’ and it is weapon against coronavirus as well. “The Pakistan media has always expressed responsibility during the challenges,” he maintained. He said the armed forces are active and a medical plan of action has been devised to address the issue. “The armed forces are also supporting the civil administration at international airports.” Firdous Ashiq Awan said that all institutions are in harmony to control coronavirus. “The prime minister himself is supervising the entire situation. There is no food shortage in Pakistan. Protection of life and property of the masses is the top prioroity of the government,” he added. The special assistant said that the provincial governments are working with cooperation of the federal government. “Deliveries from foreign countries will be affected by coronavirus,” she said. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the government is working on a financial stimulus package to help the labour class and daily wagers. “A committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Finance Advisor Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh to devise a plan to avoid economic slowdown in the country.” Zafar Mirza said that the nation seems to be uniting during the last few days. “Coronavirus has spread in 176 countries, out of total 194. A majority of people suffering from the disease recover,” he added.
