LAHORE (92 News) – A mega scandal of placing unregistered stents in patients was unearthed in Punjab Institute of Cardiology. Sources said that the stents, which are not registered with the Drug Regulatory Authority, are being placed in patients. They added that hundreds of unregistered stents were inserted into patients in December alone. They said that the hospital administration had purchased a stent at Rs 123,000 and paid Medtronic Company (resolute onyx) Rs 12,230,000 for 100 stents.
