Mercury rises to 44 degree Celsius in Lahore and Multan

LAHORE (92 News) - Several cities, including Multan and Lahore, remained in the grip of severe heat wave as he mercury rose to 44 degree Celsius.

Moreover, several cities are in the grip of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Temperature has increased in the plain areas along with the mountainous areas.

On the other hand, long power shutdown is continuing in Peshawar. A five-hour shutdown in the urban and 10-hour shutdown in rural areas is being observed.

Earlier, the Met Office had informed that high pressure is likely to grip upper atmosphere and as a result, day temperatures are likely to increase gradually in most parts of the country from Sunday.

Day temperatures are likely to remain 07-09°C above normal in upper Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Day temperatures are likely to remain 06-08°C above normal in Upper and Central Sindh, Central and South Punjab and parts of Balochistan.
