Military action against any political or religious group results into anarchy

The DG ISPR said that the military action against any political or religious group results into anarchy. He said that there is a constitutional and apolitical bond between the Pak Army and the government.

"All political personalities and parties are respectable for the Pak Army. The people do not want army's tilt towards any particular political party. It is wrong to give a political colour to the apolitical relation of the army with the government. The organization of the former soldiers should not take the cover of politics," he added.

Maj Gen Ahmed Sharif said that COAS Syed Asim Munir had already clarified that the people are the real power of Pakistan. "The Pak Army is a national army. Some people who launched a campaign against the army are political and some have an agenda of the enemy agencies. Some personal and political objectives are behind the propaganda against the army," he declared.

He said that the federal government deploys the Pak Army under the Article 245. "The Defence Ministry has replied to the Supreme Court and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) about the availability of the forces for the elections. The Defence Ministry's reply is based on active ground realities," he added.

He disclosed that the three masterminds of the attack on the Karachi Police Lines had been arrested. "The suicide bomber in the Peshawar Police Lines attack was an Afghan national. The banned TTP spent Rs7.6 million for the Peshawar attack and Rs3 million for the Peshawar attack," he concluded.
