ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan will not give its bases.
He was responding to a question by a journalist after an in-camera session of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security on Thursday.
Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto, chief ministers of the four provinces and leaders of the parliamentary parties attended the meeting. Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, DG ISI Lt Gen Faiz Hameed and DG ISPR Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar were also present.
National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar presided over the meeting.
The military authorities briefed the civil leadership about the Afghan peace process, leaving of US and NATO forces as well as regional and India Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) situation.

The participants were also taken into confidence on the matters pertaining to interior, foreign and economic.
However, Prime Minister Imran Khan did not participate in the meeting. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi represented the prime minister.
Talking to the media, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif said that Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa replied to the questions. "The briefing was good and comprehensive. A complete review of the foreign policy and internal situation was presented during the meeting. The briefing was given on IIOJ&K and Afghanistan situation," he said.
Former prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani said that national consensus is mandatory on challenges being faced by national security.
PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that nothing except national security was discussed in the meeting. "Prime Minister Imran Khan does not want to visit the House," he maintained.
