RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Awards of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat were conferred on Pakistan Army officers and soldiers on Friday at the corps investiture ceremony of the Rawalpindi Corps. According to the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR), Corps investiture ceremony of Rawalpindi Corps was held today. Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar was Chief Guest on the occasion. Awards of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat were conferred on Army officers and soldiers. Two officers and 24 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and soldiers including 21 Shuhada were awarded Tamgha-i-Basalat. Next of kins of Shuhada received their awards posthumously. Sixty Three officers were awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 85 officers were awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) for rendering meritorious services to the nation. Military awards conferred on 86 Army personnel in Lahore
Earlier, Corps Commander Lahore Lt General Majid Ehsan conferred military awards on 86 Army personnel during an investiture ceremony at Corps Headquarters Lahore on Thursday. According to the ISPR, 23 Army personnel were awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz, while 48 received Tamgha-i-Imtiaz and 15 Tamgha-i-Bisalat. The Army personnel have been awarded medals for acts of gallantry during operations, outstanding performances in respective fields and for their long meritorious services. The awards conferred on the martyrs were received by their relatives. A large number of Army officers and the relatives of the martyrs attended the ceremony.
