Millers announce Rs4 per kg increase in flour price

LAHORE (92 News) – The mill owners announced an Rs4 per kg increase in the flour price on Saturday. Now the open flour will be available at Rs64 per kg as compared to its previous rate of Rs60 per kg. The per maund price of flour has been fixed at Rs 2,560. In a press release, the millers said that the wheat price has witnessed an increase of Rs200-250 per 40kg during the last three months and crossed the extreme level of Rs2,000 per 40kg. It added that the price had broken the 15-year record. “Moreover, the preparation cost of flour has also increased manifold due to exorbitant hike in the prices of gas, petrol and electricity. In addition, the imposition of different taxes has forced the association to increase the flour price,” the release said.
