Mini smart lockdown imposed in Karachi, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has said that mini smart lockdown has been re-imposed in Karachi, Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) after surge in the number of coronavirus cases on Sunday.

In his tweet, Asad Umar said that coronavirus cases have been increased by two percent as compared to last week.

Local administrations have been directed to ensure protective measures to curb the spread of this deadly disease, he stated. “Success cannot be achieved without the cooperation of the masses.”

Meanwhile, as many as 666 new coronavirus cases and twelve deaths were reported during the last 24 hours on Sunday.

According to the latest statistics, the contagion claimed lives of 12 more people during the last twenty four hours.

The figure of patients recovered from the virus has reached 303,458. There are now 8,904 active cases in the country.
