Mirpur Khas hospital denies ambulance to poor man, demands Rs2,000 for body transportation

MIRPUR KHAS (92 News) - Officials at Mirpur Khas government hospital demanded Rs2,000 from a poor man whose two-year-old boy died at the hospital and wanted ambulance to transport the body to home. After failing to pay Rs2,000 and getting free ride refused by the hospital staff, Kaiwal and his younger brother Ramaish Bhail were carrying body on a motorcycle when they met a fatal accident and died on the spot. They were crushed by a speeding truck while traveling home. The arrival of three bodies at Khapro residence left the family devastated. Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident flashed by media and sought detailed report. The Director General Health Services Hyderabad constituted inquiry committee that surprisingly will hold proceedings into the incident from October 16. GDA leader Nustrat Sehar Abbasi talking to 92 News asked the provincial health minister to explain where provincial health budget is being spent in a province where a poor man lacks ambulance facility. "They want air-conditioned environments in jails but poor even can't avail ambulance service," she commented while deploring the Sindh government.
