Mission of de-escalating tensions: FM leaves for Iran, Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Mission to reduce tensions in the region, Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has left for Iran and Saudi Arabia visit. It is pertinent to mention here that the foreign minister is visiting Iran and Saudi Arabia for peace in region on the direction of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan. During his visit to Iran, FM Qureshi will meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif to exchange views on the evolving situation in the region. He will also stress to reduce de-escalation tensions between US and Iran. Shah Mehmood Qureshi will visit Saudi Arabia tomorrow to hold talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and consult on the issues of regional peace and stability. The recent developments seriously endanger peace and security in an already volatile region and underscore the need for immediate and collective efforts for a peaceful resolution. During these visits, FM Qureshi will share Pakistan’s perspective on the current situation by stressing the imperative of avoiding any conflict. He will convey Pakistan’s readiness to support all efforts that facilitate resolution of differences and disputes through political and diplomatic means.
