Mobile phones scam: Rs 800m loss caused to national exchequer

KARACHI (92 News) – A loss amounting to Rs 800 million has been caused to the national exchequer, it was revealed during investigations into the mobile phones scandal. The investigators have also sought particulars of the mobile phone company. They said that the loss of Rs 800 million has been caused under the head of duty by smuggling 31,000 mobile phones. Three cases have been registered and a few arrests made so far.
