LAHORE (92 News) – Model Kinza Muneer, witness who was produced as a witness by Ali Zafar’s counsel, on Saturday recorded the statement in Lahore sessions court during the hearing of a defamation suit filed by the singer against Meesha Shafi. Additional Sessions Judge Amjad Ali Shah presided over the case after it was earlier transferred from another court on Shafi’s request. While Shafi’s counsel once against opposed the idea of recording witnesses this morning, Munir was able to give her testimony under oath. She said that there were 10-11 people present at the jam where Meesha cordially hugged Ali. During the hearing, Kinza Muneer said that she was present in the studio where Shafi has alleged that she was sexually harassed by Zafar during a rehearsal session of a concert. Muneer said that around 10 people were in the studio at the time of rehearsal, that went on for 45 minutes. The witness further said that both singers were standing four to five feet apart from each other during the rehearsal session, that was being filmed. Claiming that Shafi's accusations were ‘lies’, Muneer said that Shafi had hugged Zafar when she arrived at the studio as well as when she had left. Last week, another witness from Zafar’s counsel, Baqir Abbas, had recorded his statement stating the same. The court, after recording Muneer’s statement, adjourned the hearing until May 18.
Meesha Shafi’s plea accepted for transfer of Ali Zafar defamation suit
On May 8, a local court accepted a plea by singer Meesha Shafi showing distrust in the judge hearing a defamation suit filed by actor Ali Zafar, allowing the transfer of the case to another court. Resuming the hearing on the case here today, judge Muhammad Khalid Nawaz approved Meesha’s request, asking her lawyer to specify a judge that they trusted. The judge issued orders to immediately transfer the case to another court. It is worth mentioning here that Meesha Shafi had accused her fellow singer and actor Ali Zafar of sexual harassment last year, leading to a key debate on the topic of sexual harassment and the #MeToo movement.
Meesha Shafi distrusts judge hearing defamation suit
Pakistani singer Meesha Shafi has distrusted the sessions judge hearing the defamation suit filed by singer and actor Ali Zafar.

The court reserved the verdict on the application submitted by singer Meesha Shafi and adjoured the hearing till May 8. She also contended that her case be shifted to another court.

On the other hand, the court cross-examined the one of the witnesses and summoned more witnesses on the next hearing.
