Modi planning disturbance in IOK by halting polls: Farooq Abdullah

SRINAGAR (92 News) — Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) former chief minister Farooq Abdullah has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is planning violence by halting the elections in the Valley. Slamming the Indian PM, Farooq Abdullah said that the Indian army is present in each nook and corner of the Occupied Valley. He said that the Modi government had staged the drama in Balakot just only for the elections. "All parties are in favour of holding simultaneous (Lok Sabha and State Assembly) polls. The environment is conducive for Lok Sabha polls but not state polls in J&K? Local body polls were held peacefully, there are enough forces present, then why can't state elections be held?" he questioned. The Indian Election Commission, while announcing the general election schedule on Sunday, said that the environment in Occupied Kashmir was not conducive enough to conduct the State Assembly elections. Earlier, Abdullah's son Omar Abdullah hit out at the poll body questioning its decision to not hold Assembly polls in the state. "First time since 1996, the State Assembly elections in Occupied Valley are not being held on time,” he added.
