Modi summons meeting to review Indus Water Treat

NEW DELHI (92 News) – As the India’s warmongering reached its peak, the Modi government has now been dreaming to block Pakistani rivers as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called a meeting of the advisers and high-ranking officials on Monday (today) over the Indus Water Treaty. The Indian prime minister will meet officials from various ministries today including External Affairs and Water Resources and is expected to discuss Indus Water Treaty signed between Pakistan and India in 1960. Narendra Modi directed the country’s institutions for work on changes in the treaty, while the cunning India is using backdoor diplomacy for changes in the agreement. India is also making plans to accelerate work on controversial projects under construction on River Chenab. The Modi government has started considering introducing bill in the Lok Sabha regarding changes in Indus Water Treat and occupation of River Chenab and for this India is prepared to raise propaganda against Pakistan in the World Bank and other international forums. The Indus Waters Treaty was signed between Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Pakistan's president General Ayub Khan in 1960, after World Bank brokered negotiations that lasted almost a decade.
