Monarchy in the name of democracy has been established in the country: CJP

ISLMABAD (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali has on Thursday lashed out at the government saying a monarchy has been established in the name of democracy in the country. A five-member bench comprising Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Ijazul Ahsan heard the case. During the hearing, the bench heard the appeals and directed all the parties to submit names of impartial technical experts to ascertain possible damages to the archaeological sites. CJP Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali remarked that bad governance under the garb of good governance in being practiced in the country, adding that the government is making fun of the masses in the name of democracy. The CJP further remarked: “The masses must be careful while casting their votes and the people will have to stand over undemocratic behavior.” He said that the historic cities are our assets and concerning the matter in the case is regarding the protection of heritage sites, adding that many issues have been resolved through technology.
