LAHORE (92 News) - A special court in Lahore has summoned Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz for indictment in the money laundering case on September 7.

During the hearing, a request for exemption from attendance was submitted in the court on behalf of Amjad Parvez, the lawyer of Hamza Shehbaz and Shehbaz Sharif. In the application, it was stated that Shehbaz Sharif is busy in important meetings while Hamza Shehbaz has severe back pain due to which he cannot appear in the court.

The FIA prosecutor opposed the plea and said that the accused has not been appearing in the court since the interim bail granted. “The death certificate of accused Malik Maqsood has been submitted and his death has been confirmed.”

The record of Salman Shehbaz’s properties was also presented in the court. His lawyer took a stand that the accused's property cannot be confiscated for two years after the declaration.

The court asked the investigating officer whether he has any objection to this point to which he agreed. The court accepted the plea and summoned Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz and other accused for indictment.
