Monsoon rains, floods death toll reaches 1,265

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The death toll from torrential monsoon rains and floods since the onset of the rainy season across the country has reached 1,265.

According to National Disaster Management Authority, 12,577 individuals were also injured in various rains and flood related incidents. 38 people died in Sindh, 17 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  The dead include 22 men, 18 women and 17 children. Moreover, 5 lakh 29 thousand 472 houses were completely destroyed due to recent rains and floods. A total of 5,563 kilometers of roads were also affected across the country. In the last 24 hours, 500 kilometers of roads were damaged in Balochistan.

NDMA warned that 80 districts in the country are still affected by the recent rains and floods and 33.3 million 46 thousand 329 people of the country have been directly affected by the rains.

As far as live stock is concerned, 3,766 more livestock have been damaged due to flood in the last 24 hours while according to NDMA data, 7 lakh 35 thousand 584 cattle have died so far.
