Moon not sighted: Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia to observe first Ramadan on Thursday

LAHORE (92 News) – The Ramazan moon has not been sighted in Saudi Arabia and other parts of the Gulf region, therefore the 1st Ramazan will be on Thursday there, reported 92 news. The meeting of Moon Sighting Committee was called on the appeal of Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court. The committee didn’t received acknowledgments of moon sighting from different parts of the country. The fasting in the Gulf region will begin on Thursday (June 18). On the other hand the moon was not sighted in United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Oman, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and Turkey. On the other, the Royat e Hilal Committee Pakistan with its head Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman in chair, will meet in Karachi tomorrow for sighting of the Ramazan moon. Provincial moon sighting committees will also meet at their respective headquarters to decide about the moon.
