Moon sighting: Ruet-e-Hilal committee to meet on Thursday

KARACHI (92 News) – The Ruet e Hilal Committee Pakistan with its head Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman, will meet in Karachi tomorrow for sighting of the Ramazan moon. Ruet e Hilal Committee Pakistan Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman will chair the meeting in Karachi. Provincial moon sighting committees will also meet at the office of Meteorological Department to decide about the moon at 6pm. According to the Meteorological Department there are low chances of sighting moon today as the age of the moon will be 24 hours and 44 minutes, therefore the 1st Ramazan could be on Thursday. On the other hand, the federal government is taking steps to in an effort to ensure that Ramazan and Eid fell on the same day across the country. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf has contacted KP Provincial Minister for Religious Affairs Haji Habibur Rahman and Ruet e Hilal Committee, appealing them for their cooperation in ensuring Razaman commences on the same date across the country. The mufti of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan Shahab-ud-Din will be sighting moon along with the government officials.
