Moving scenes as PIA plane carrying stranded Pakistanis reaches Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) – Moving scenes were witnessed when the PIA plane carrying passengers stranded in Yemen reached Karachi on Friday evening. Passengers' relatives warmly welcomed their loved ones. Earlier, the same PIA plane dropped some passengers in Islamabad. Speaking on the occasion, Defence Minister Kh Asif and Adviser to Prime Minister on Aviation Shujaat Azeem were present at the airport. He said that Pakistanis stranded in Sanaa will be brought back soon. The minister said that the decision on the Yemen issue will be made in the joint session of the parliament. “About 300 Pakistanis are still stranded in Yemen,” he said. The passengers’ relatives chanted the slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad' and 'Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Zindabad'. Asim Shah, a passenger who disembarked from the flight in Islamabad, said that they are very glad after reaching our homeland. He said that they felt themselves secure in the Chinese vessel. Some passengers, while weeping, thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the government for their efforts to bring them back.
