MQM and PTI resignations case: SC issues notices to PM, opposition leader and others

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court has on Wednesday issued notices to the prime minister, opposition leader and Speaker National Assembly in a case regarding the resignations of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard a petition against the resignations of MQM and PTI. The court has also issued notices to MQM’s all members of Provincial, National assemblies and Senate. The apex court ordered to combine applications pertaining to the resignations of the MQM and the PTI. The hearing was adjourned indefinitely.
