MQM chief Altaf Hussain booked for threatening army officials

KARACHI (92 News) – The Civil Lines police on Tuesday registered a case against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on the charge of threatening the army officials. The case has been registered under section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and 506-B of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the application of Col Tahir, a spokesman for the Sindh Rangers. The MQM chief had uttered derogatory remarks against the army officials and threatened them following the Rangers’ raid on MQM Headquarters Nine Zero. It is the first case against the MQM chief since 1992.
