MQM declares Rs 1,100 billion package for Karachi as insufficient

KARACHI (92 News) – The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has declared the Rs 1,100 billion package allocated for Karachi as insufficient. Talking to the media on Tuesday, MQM convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that they had accepted the Karachi package despite reservations. "We fear the amount would go somewhere else instead of spending it on Karachi," he said. He said that they had also reservations on the appointments of administrators in Karachi. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that announcements are being made for returning four percent to Karachi which gives 70 percent revenue to the Centre and 95 percent to the Sindh government.
