MQM delegation calls on PM, demands elections under new census

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - A delegation of the Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday.

Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui led the delegation. During the meeting, the MQM presented its reservations before the prime minister.

The MQM demanded that the elections should be held under the new census. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that there would be no issue if the elections are delayed for a few days.

Talking to 92 News, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori said that they had talked about the MQM's reservations in detail.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that no decision had been made to hold the elections under the new or old census.

During the meeting, Shoaib Siddiqui was proposed for the slot of the Sindh caretaker chief minister.
