MQM-P rejects Local Bodies Amendment Bill 2021

KARACHI (92 News) – The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) has rejected the Local Bodies Amendment Bill 2021, saying the amendments are in clash with the constitution and democracy.

Participants of a conference, arranged by the MQM-P on Saturday, were of the view that the PPP is responsible for the abysmal state of different districts of Sindh.

They demanded that a committee comprising of representatives of political parties should be constituted to compile recommendations of the Local Bodies law.

They said that the political, financial and administrative powers should be shifted to local bodies institution. "A joint effort for the restoration of the local bodies system will continue," they resolved.
