KARACHI (92 News) - The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has refused to accept the results of the local bodies elections in Sindh.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, MQM leader Waseem Akhtar said that the mandate of his party had been stolen. "The PPP has violated the agreement. We have already told that the fair elections are impossible under the present conditions," he added.

The MQM leader said that they had informed the Sindh government and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), but they did not listen to them. "The same thing that we feared happened. The candidates have not been given the Form 11," he alleged.

He said that unrest and maladministration ruled during the polling.

Waseem Akhtar said that a majority of parties want the postponement of the local bodies elections on the party basis. "The delimitation of constituencies are not justified in Karachi and Hyderabad. We will not allow the theft of their mandate," he added.
