KARACHI (92 News) – The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has on Wednesday staged a sit-in against the arrest of party workers in Karachi’s Shahrah e Faisal.

A large number of party workers participated in the protest and blocked the road for traffic. The law enforcers had raided the office of the political party in Karachi's Gulistan-e-Johar area and rounded up five people from there. Superintendent of Police Gulshan Fahad, reached the spot for dialogues with the protesters.

The SP Gulshan said that the raid was carried out by the Malir Police. On the occasion, MQM leader Kanwar Naveed Jameel said that the arrest of party workers and extra-judicial killings continue for the last three years, adding that the government doesn’t look serious in resolving the issue. He said that the Coordination Committee would soon announce protests against workers' arrest.
