KARACHI (92 News) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement remains without a chief after Altaf Hussain resigned from party leadership early Tuesday morning. As per reports, Altaf Hussain announced his decision over the “nation’s silence” over the statement issued by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif regarding Muhajirs. The announcement was made by Altaf Hussain while talking to a private news channel. Khawaja Asif had stated that ‘real Muhajirs’ are the ones who had migrated to the country from Indian regions of Jalandhar and Ludhiana. He stated that two million people from Indian states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Hyderabad, Aligarh, Lucknow and Agra had migrated to Pakistan at the time of the partition. “His statements cancels the sacrifices rendered by the Muslims who migrated from the minority regions to Pakistan”, he said. Earlier, the National Assembly extended the Pakistan Army ordinance 2015. In a heated debate in the assembly, the MQM and Defence Minister exchanged harsh words.
