LAHORE (92 News) – Former Test captain Muhammad Hafeez has announced retirement from the international cricket on Monday.

Talking to the media, he said that he had played cricket for 18 years. “I am very satisfied with my career. I am very thankful to Appolo Club. Playing cricket for Pakistan is my pride and earning money was not my motive. I wanted to be a part of the winning squad. I pray for new people.”

He said that he was very thankful to his parents, friends and cricket clubs of Lahore and Sargodha.

“I am very thankful for the support of my team and the media. I am very thankful to all coaches of national coaches for guidance. Shahid Aslam played a key role in making me mentally strong and in improving my batting skills. I am very thankful to my fans who always supported me,” he maintained.

Muhmmad Hafeez said that now he would spend time with his family. “I do not have any complaint with current set up and the PCB. I am a player, not a coach. If I come for coaching, then I will come after learning.”
