KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh assembly members have on Friday elected Syed Murad Ali Shah as new Chief Minister of the province. Pakistan People’s Party’s Syed Murad Ali Shah and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Khurrum Sher Zaman Khan contested for the top position, while the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) decided to stay away from the election. Pakistan People’s Party’s Syed Murad Ali Shah was declared new Sindh Chief Minister after he obtained 88 votes. The newly-elected chief minister would then take oath of his office at the Governor s House which will also be attended by former prime ministers Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani and Raja Pervez Ashraf.
