ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed was released from Adiala jail after being granted a bail by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in a case pertaining to the murder allegations against former president Asif Zardari.
A large number of workers welcomed him outside the jail. Addressing the workers, Sheikh Rasheed said that he had come after living 15 days in the house of his in-laws. "I cannot be worried. I am standing with Imran Khan and truth," he added.
Earlier, the court had ordered Sheikh Rasheed to furnish surety bonds worth Rs50,000. During the hearing, the counsel for Sheikh Rasheed contended that there is no evidence of a clash occurring between the PPP and the PTI.
On the other hand, Sheikh Rashid Shafique has expressed gratitude over the court verdict. "We have received justice from the courts. Sheikh Rasheed will himself hold those accountable who had meted out injustice to Sheikh Rasheed," he maintained.
