Murree tragedy inquiry report presented to Punjab CM, 15 officers removed for negligence

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has removed 15 officers on the inquiry report in the Murree tragedy.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, he said that the Rawalpindi commissioner has been removed for negligence and his services sent to the federal government.

"The Rawalpindi deputy commissioner, city police officer and city traffic officer have been removed. Moreover, the Murree assistant commissioner has been suspended and an inquiry has been ordered against him," he added.

The chief minister said that Highways XEN, Highways XEN Mechanical, Highways SDO Mechanical, Murree District Emergency Office, Murree Rescue 1122 in-charge and Divisional Forest Officer had also been suspended.

He said that the action against Punjab PDM director had been ordered after suspending him. "The government has fulfilled the promise of action against the responsible officers after a fair inquiry," he added.

Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat and Punjab Government Spokesperson Hassan Khawar were also present.
