LAHORE (92 News) - Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the sentiments of Muslims are being hurt in the name of freedom of expression in the West.

In a special talk with 92 News, FM Qureshi said that that the western countries are insulting sentiments of Muslims in name of freedom of expression. He said that the OIC platform will highlight Islamophobia.

"We have seen a state of anxiety in the last few days. The Muslim Ummah will work together to formulate a strategy against Islamophobia. The OIC is an important forum for Islamophobia. Saudi Arabia has justified Pakistan's concern over Islamophobia and agreed with our view," he said.

"We have agreed to have an effective and appropriate platform on Islamophobia, through which we will take this important issue forward. Islamophobia has been discussed in detail with the Iran's foreign minister."

He said that a joint declaration has been issued on the visit of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan to Saudi Arabia, in which the future path has been paved, both the sides have to promote investment. "We have to see how Pakistani professionals and workers can serve in the Saudi service sector in the economic future of Saudi Arabia," he added.

FM Qureshi said that Saudi Arabia has signaled full solidarity with Pakistan on the situation in Afghanistan and the world is aware of Pakistan's role in the Afghan peace process.

He said that the climate challenge is a problem which has given rise to concern and an integrated strategy needs to be formulated to address it, adding that "Saudi Arabia has appreciated Pakistan's efforts to combat climate change.
