My salary not enough to fulfill my own household expenses, says PM

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Admitting the inflation across the country, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has explained that he lives in his own home, pay his own expenses but his salary is not enough to fulfill his own household expenses. The prime minister said that the government is taking steps to control increasing inflation in the country. He said his team sits down every week to explore options to control inflation. “Some things are in our hands but most of them are not,” he added. He hoped that the people would soon witness a drop in inflation. “We reduced the expenses of the PM House by 40 per cent,” he said. “I live in my own home, pay my own expenses. My salary is not enough to fulfill my own household expenses,” he added. PM Khan noted that he reduced expenses of the Prime Minister’s House after taking over the reins of the country. “Even the army reduced its budget due to the difficult financial conditions,” he added. He further said that the government can't face all the challenges alone. The country too cannot make progress without the people paying the taxes, he added. Earlier, chairing a meeting on licensing regime in the provinces in Islamabad, Imran Khan has directed to abolish around one hundred and fifty licences required for various business activities at the local level. he also directed the provincial governments to eliminate seventy four different licenses of this nature. Imran Khan directed to simplify the process for necessary licences and introduction of automated system by employing modern technology. The Prime Minister expressed concern on complex licensing regime and said the requirement of licences for the businesses of grocery, cloth and bakery is equal to creating difficulties for the common man. He also emphasized to complete the process of eliminating unnecessary licences in thirty days.
