ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has on Friday allowed the voters with expired National Identity Cards (NIC) to vote in the NA-122, NA-144 and PP-147 by-elections. According to a statement issued by the ECP, the voters will not be allowed to cast their vote on ID card photocopy and token issued by the NADRA. They have also directed them not to accept a photocopy of the NIC or passport from voters as valid proof. The voters can inquire about their vote and polling stations through sms at 8300 before leaving home to cast their vote. The by-election will be held on October 11 in all three constituencies. The ECP has started distributing equipments for the upcoming by-elections, while Pakistan Army and Rangers would be deputed in and around the polling stations for security.
