NA session called on Oct 17 to discuss Shehbaz arrest

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser on Wednesday summoned a session of the Lower House on October 17 to discuss current political situation of the country.

. The NA session will begin at 11am on next Wednesday in the Parliament House. The opposition had requisitioned a session on PML-N President and leadr of the opposition Shehbaz Sharif’s arrest on October 6. The opposition had approached the NA speaker at his residence to submit the requisition request. He had assured them that he would call the session within 14 days. However, the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) has called for a NA and Senate session at the Parliament House gate tomorrow over the arrest of opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif. Former NA speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has also been meeting with leaders of opposition parties regarding holding sessions outside the assemblies. Earlier during the meeting of its Central Executive Committee (CEC), the PML-N decided to protest inside the Parliament over Shehbaz’s arrest. The party had also given a deadline which expired on Tuesday for summoning sessions of the National and Punjab assemblies.
