NA speaker informs PM regarding committee’s suggestions on coronavirus

ISLAMABAD (92 New) – National Assembly (NA) speaker Asad Qaiser on Friday has apprised Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan of parliamentary committee's recommendations regarding coronavirus. Talking to the NA speaker, the prime minister said that the government is taking effective steps to deal with coronavirus challenge. “Parliament is an institution of people’s aspirations and it is imperative to keep parliament effective and functional in the prevailing situation,” he added. The NA speaker said that meetings of standing committees are being held through video link to make parliament effective in the prevailing situation. He apprised the prime minister of parliamentary committee’s recommendations regarding coronavirus. They exchanged views about holding virtual sessions of the National Assembly. The prime minister said the government is paying special attention to an effective policy about agriculture sector. He said agriculture sector will be promoted after being given special importance in the budget.
