NA to elect PM today as Imran, Shahbaz vying for top slot

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The election for leader of the House in National Assembly will be held today (on Friday) and PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif are vying for the top slot of the leader of the house in the National Assembly. This was announced by the newly elected Speaker Asad Qaisar. Nomination papers for the election can be filed with the National Assembly secretariat by 2pm tomorrow. The speaker will in the presence of candidates or their proposers and seconders scrutinize the nomination papers. The election shall be through division as enshrined in the rules of procedures and conduct of the National Assembly 2007. The nomination papers of PM candidates on their behalf were submitted by their party leaders in the National Assembly secretariat. The scrutiny of the papers will be carried out in the office of speaker on Thursday. The speaker will scrutinize the nomination papers in the presence of candidates or their proposers and seconders. Election for the office will be held tomorrow, for which the session of the National Assembly has been summoned at three thirty in the afternoon. The election shall be through division of house as enshrined in the rules of procedures and conduct of the National Assembly 2007.
