NA unanimously passes resolution against Trump threats

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Assembly unanimously approved a resolution against the threats hurled by US President Donald Trump and statements of US General Nicholson. The resolution demanded that they government should consider suspending ground and air cooperation with the US. It also called for formulating an alternate economic policy in the wake of closure of the US aid. Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif presented the resolution, saying that the nation was united against the Trump policy. The resolution also condemned the Trump administration for giving more role to Indian in Afghanistan, terming the statements of the US president Gen Nicholson as threatening. It also rejected the US claim of giving billions of dollars to Pakistan. The resolution stated that Pakistan economy had suffered a loss of US$123 billion. “Pakistan is a responsible atomic power. Pakistan’s control and command system is acknowledged at the international level,” it said. It demanded that Afghanistan should eliminate terrorists’ safe havens from its soil. The resolution also expressed the resolve to establish bilateral ties with the US on the basis of respect and dignity. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was also present in the House. After the approval of the resolution, the National Assembly session was put off sine die.
