ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Amended Ordinance draft had been finalized.

Talking to the media on Tuesday, he said that the amended ordinance would be as per constitution.

"The tax cases will be referred to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) instead of the National Accountability Bureau," he added.

He said that the provincial chief justices would be consulted for appointment of judges to the accountability courts. "Only the government, if need be, will make the appointment of a retired judge," he added.

The minister said that the trial courts would be given the right to grant bail to the accused. "The law is being formed for one day, but for future. Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal will continue to work if the parliamentary committee failed to evolve consensus. The opposition cannot make the amended ordinance a political issue," he concluded.
