Aleem Khan resigns after being arrested by NAB in offshore companies case

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Senior Minister Aleem Khan on Wednesday resigned after being arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the offshore companies and assets beyond income case. Aleem Khan had appeared before the NAB fourth time in the case. The NAB is investigating Aleem Khan for his involvement in the offshore company and assets beyond income cases. It had demanded the details about his offshore companies and properties abroad. The NAB spokesman said that Aleem Khan will be presented in the accountability court on Thursday. He said that Aleem Khan has been arrested in the assets beyond income case. The spokesman said that medical check-up of Aleem Khan was also conducted. Earlier, Aleem Khan arrived at the NAB Office in Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore around 10:45am. Talking to the media, he informed that he had been summoned by the NAB and will share further details afterwards. This is the fourth time the senior Punjab minister appeared before the accountability bureau. Aleem had last appeared before NAB on August 8 when he was handed a questionnaire and told to appear on February 6. Aleem owns assets worth over Rs918 million. According to Aleem’s nomination papers submitted for the recently held elections, he holds total assets worth Rs918,278,855. Aleem’s personal property is valued at more than Rs159 million while his ownership of shares is said to be worth more than Rs129.3 million.
