NAB arrests Shehbaz Sharif in Ashiana Housing Scheme scam

LAHORE (92 News) – The Nation Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday has arrested Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif in the Ashiana Housing Scheme scam. Shehbaz Sharif was summoned in the Saaf Pani Company scandal. The NAB has informed National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar about the arrest of Shehbaz Sharif who will be presented in an accountability court on Saturday. Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan and PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb have confirmed the arrest of Shehbaz Sharif. Sources said that Shehbaz Sharif had been arrested after the disclosures made by Fawad Hassan Fawad. The NAB three-member investigation team comprises the officers of the prosecution, investigation and intelligence who are probing into misappropriation of Rs four billion. Earlier, Fawad Hassan Fawad, former DG LDA Ahad Cheema, Bilal Qadwai, Imtiaz Haider, Shahid Shafique, Israr Saeed and Arif Butt were arrested by the NAB in the case. However, Israr Saeed and Arif Butt are already in jail.
