NAB chief vows to take mega corruption cases to their logical conclusion
LAHORE (92 News) – National Accountability Bureau Chairman Javed Iqbal says taking the cases of mega corruption to their logical conclusion and retrieving the money of affectees of housing societies are among top priorities of NAB.
He expressed these views while distributing cheques of 730 million rupees among the affectees of Ferozepur City Housing Society in Lahore today (Wednesday).

NAB’s 1210 cases of Rs900bn subjudice
Javed Iqbal on Wednesday said the organisation’s 1210 cases of 900 billion rupees were subjudice. “So far Rs303 billion have been recovered from corrupt people since my assuming the charge,” Javed Iqbal said. He said those dreaming of becoming rich should know that shrouds had no pockets. He said the anti-graft watchdog had made Double-Shah, Single-Shah. The NAB chairman said the relevant organisations should take notice of attractive advertisements of the private housing society. “Some housing societies illegally sell billions of rupees.” Javed Iqbal said embezzlement was root cause of all evils and a hurdle in the way of development and prosperity. Earlier, National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that the bureau has no political agenda and there will be no revengeful action against anyone.
Addressing officers at Civil Secretariat in Lahore on Monday, he said that the NAB wants to do work on merit.
He urged the officers to work with dedication, saying that no arrested officer will be handcuffed in future. “The bureaucracy is the backbone of the country. How will we advance if it will not make decisions? The government makes the policy while the bureaucracy implements it,” he said.
The NAB chairman said that mega corruption cases surfaced in Punjab last year. ‘We had concrete evidence against the officers against whom the action was taken,” he said.
He said that it is his top priority to take the mega corruption cases to the logical conclusion. “The NAB is indiscriminately taking action to end corruption from the country,” he said.
